We woke up at 4:00 AM this morning and hit the train at 4:30 AM in order to avoid the scorching heat. Today was another day with temperatures in the 100s. We made our way from Jhula to Paiju in about 6 hours. I’m severly dehydrated but I’m OK; I started at a very fast pace this morning and should have slowed down when the sun hit. We followed the “Baltoro” river bed and we are getting closer to the glacier. The footing is still very hard and the trails are barely visible. About an hour before we arrived in Paiju camp, we were treated to a spectacular view of K2. Tomorrow we head out early again and finally hit the Baltoro Glacier, another adventure is its own right.
